Beginners Makeup: Day to Evening to Night (detailed talk-through)

I received a request on Beautylish to do a beginners tutorial with written instructions, so that is what I am posting today! This is a talk through tutorial where I go into detail and give tips & tricks along the way!
I started off doing a simple 'daytime' look but switched it up at the end to amp it up using lipstick and liner to give evening and night looks. I hope you like the looks and find this helpful!

Written Instructions

1. Prime your face and eyes with your preferred primers. You can use clean, sanitized hands/fingers to smooth these in gently.

2. Apply your preferred foundation with you foundation brush all over the face. If you need extra coverage in certain areas, apply to these areas first and allow to set before blending. For extra coverage, push (not wipe) a little more product onto the skin with brush.

3. Apply your preferred concealer in a colour that matches your skintone/foundation. Use your preferred brush or a clean fingertip, to dab on concealer over blemishes. Blend out. You can do this by pressing on top with foundation brush.

4. Apply and blend your preferred concealer to your under eyes, with a brush or ring finger.

5. Take a light shimmery colour that suits your skintone on a flat shadow brush. Apply to the lids.

6. Take a matte brown that is a bit darker than your skintone on a fluffy blending brush. Apply to the crease. The crease is the socket-line between your eyelid and your browbone. Use gentle side-to-side motions to apply. Pull upwards as needed to blend colour up so that it may be seen when eyes are open and relaxed.

7. Take the matte brown on the tip/edge of the flat shadow brush. Run this along the lower lashline.

8. Use a black eyeliner to create a thin line on the top lashline. Keep the line thinnest on the inner corner, and thicken it as you like towards the outer corner. Keep in mind the amount of lid space you have. For an evening/night look, also apply black to the lower waterline.

9. If you need to, smooth any bumps/skips gently in the line with a cotton bud.

10. Apply mascara to top and bottom lashes as desired. For the top, tilt head back and look down into mirror. For the bottom, tilt head down and look up into mirror.

11. If you need to, remove any mistakes with a cotton bud. For heavy mistakes use a water-based eye-makeup remover on the cotton bud.

12. Fill in your brows with your preferred product. Brush through with brow brush/spoolie if you have one.

13. Set base (foundation & concealer) with translucent powder. Use preferred brush. You can set all over the face or only where you feel it is necessary. To avoid moving the foundation underneath, pat powder on rather than swiping.

14. Apply preferred natural blush colour. Apply to apples of cheeks and pull upwards towards cheekbones. Use light-touch and circular motions.

15. Apply your preferred lip colour. For a daytime look use a natural coloured lipgloss. For an evening/night look apply a bolder lipstick.
