So this is a really simple look for Winter! I was inspired by some of the makeups I have seen for this season (see below), and I came up with this look! The focus is on the strong lip, which is paired with almost bare, bright eyes and a flushed cheek. I accented my eyes with individual lashes to give a prettier look. If you have super long lashes anyway you shouldn't have to do this. I hope you enjoy this & give it a try...

Hello hello! Today's tutorial is of a matte, neutral, sort of winged eyeshadow look! I think it's very wearable, it's not too complicated and most people will have similar neutral shades. I just happen to like an all-matte look now and again so I chose to do that, but you could do this with some satin or shimmer shadows too. Enjoy!

I decided to do a wearable version of a Jlo image (see below). I like the fact that it was simple with a twist of blue liner. Adding some spiky lashes like Jennifer Lopez has done would definitely take it to a more 'party' look, but I thought it was a nice option for work or school as is. Keep reading to see the tutorial, products used, pictures and the inspiration image!

I recently reached 100 subscribers and I am so thankful to those 100+ people who have subscribed to see my videos. As a little celebration and thank you, I am doing my first every giveaway! So I put together a few makeup bits to give to someone. If you would like to see what those products are and how you could win them, then just continue to read!

A fairly straightforward smokey eye, using a slate/gunmetal type colour all over the lid, creating a dark, sexy eye. A good one for those who don't like or aren't comfortable trying more complex eye looks. Here's the tutorial, hope you enjoy!

A lovely wearable look suitable for work, yet at the same time can be used as a glamorous look for a special event when paired with a red lip or with liquid liner. Also an affordable look featuring Sleek Cosmetics. The eyeshadow look simply requires 3 shimmery colours: a light gold, a dark gold and a dark warm brown. Hopefully most people will own similar colours already. I lined with a brown pencil, but a shadow would do the same. So have a look and give it a go!

So I want to start sharing with you my favourite YouTubers! Today I will be going through some of my favourite MUAs on YouTube.
Now I mainly watch beauty channels so I had a lot to choose from, but for this post at least I wanted to share those who I love to go to for both tutorials and products (reviews/recommendations/favourites).
These ladies inspire me with their looks and techniques, and I always love to hear and respect their opinions on products too.
All of the below are also working MakeUp Artists, so their expertise comes through in their videos. It also means that as a freelance MUA myself, I can often get good tips on products for my kit etc.
In separate posts I will share more YouTubers who I mainly go to for their tutorials, others who I love for products, and others for general beauty etc etc. But for today, here are my top 10 MUAs on YouTube...

This is called a Last Minute look for two reasons - because it would be ideal if you needed a Halloween makeup look at the last minute, and because I am uploading this at the very last minute! It is literally 1am on the 31st as I type. So this will be up by tomorrow (Halloween) 'daytime' for anyone needing a look for tomorrow night. Plus I think the majority of my subscribers are from the US so it should be up before the 31st over there! Anyway, this look is pretty much a generic Halloween look, using the traditional colours of black and orange. For anyone who doesn't want to 'be' anything but doesn't want to do nothing, this would be perfect. So enough explaining...here's the quick, simple, generic, last minute Halloween makeup tutorial!..

This tutorial is for a simple fancy dress ‘Cat’ look. It’s great if you don’t want to go all out or over the top. It’s also easy to pull off if you still want to look ‘pretty’ and not go scary. I created an uplifted illusion to the eye by using certain shadows, lashes and liner techniques. Then I just added in the nose, lip and whiskers. You can switch out the pink lip for whatever colour you like or whatever goes with your outfit/costume best! So here’s the tutorial, products and pictures...

Hey so I have another tutorial today! Hopefully this will come in handy for those of you who want something scary but not difficult for Halloween. This is really easy and simple and very effective. So here’s the video tutorial:

So on the 6th of October I drove up to Dublin for the Professional Beauty Show that was on in the RDS. I had never been before so was unsure as to what to expect. I have been to IMATS in London a few times, so I knew what a trade show was like but not this particular one. It is a beauty show and not a makeup show so there are a lot of products and services for beauticians and salons as opposed to just makeup artists. Here is my video with some footage and pictures of the event, as well as the products I purchased:

This tutorial is to show how to create a mask using makeup products you may already have. With Halloween coming up, I hope this may be of some use! You can create any sort of style or colour scheme to match your fancy dress outfit. I used cream products as a base, powder shadows for the colour, and eyeliners for the detailing. Pull out some different products and colours and get creative!

The day I filmed this I was getting ready to leave for work and needed something quick and easy. However, I get kind of bored of doing the same sort of look in situations like this, and decided to add a subtle bit of interest. I used the black glitter liner from Collection over a super simplistic eye look, and I must say I was really happy with the result. I will definitely use more of these in future! (I have the full shade range but keep them packed away in my kit...and well, out of sight, out of mind!) So if you’re looking for something slightly different from the norm yet still really fast, maybe for work or school, give this a try!

So this is the first of my ‘Halloween’ tutorials. I love watching SFX tutorials, but I think if I was going to a Halloween or fancy dress party myself, I would probably lean towards something a little simpler. As this is my first set of Halloween tutorials as well, I thought I would start with this end of things anyway. So here is my Cleopatra inspired look!

Monday, 30 September 2013

So I have been doing a Hogwarts Houses mini-series as I recently re-read the Harry Potter books, and this is the final one.
As I say in the video I wanted to do something a little more dramatic and editorial. I hope you like it and enjoy the tutorial!

My Story...

Saturday, September 28, 2013 3 Comments
Well hello there, and welcome to my new blog!
As you may notice, this is my first post, and I am so so excited!
I have started this blog to go along with my Youtube channel - youtube.com/RealmOfMakeup, where I post makeup tutorials, reviews, favourites, tags and more.

I will use this first post to write about my story of coming to start this blog. If you have found this blog through my RealmOfMakeup channel or social media this gives you an insight into who I am and why I do this.
If you have not, you may wonder why you should read a random blog post like this. Well I think you should give it a go, take 10 minutes to have a read and find out who I am...for all you know I could be a celebrity in the making, an outlaw on the run, a secret spy ninja, or a humorous pirate...unlikely, but possible! If nothing else it might interest you to follow my blog for future postings...
